This has been such a great week! My sister, Jennifer, came to visit us. While it wasn't nearly long enough, we packed in quite a bit of fun while she was here. We went to San Antonio to visit the Alamo and the River Walk. The weather was beautiful, the food was great and the sights were wonderful. This was my second time visiting the Alamo and I was in as much awe as the first time. Only part of the Alamo is still there and it sits in the middle of downtown San Antonio which is somewhat misleading. You expect something much bigger for what took place there, but as soon as you enter the church you are filled with the enormity of it all. As hard as I try to wrap my mind around it all, I can only imagine so much. For those of you who are interested here's the web site http://www.thealamo.org/. I think the best part for Reily and Jacklyn was their Aunt Jenn buying all three of them cap guns in the gift shop. They had their own battles all throughout the house for the rest of Jenn's stay. It was a lot of fun for Ron and I to watch these battles!
Here's a picture of the front of the church and part of the beautiful grounds.

I love the Alamo and the River Walk! We would go there all the time! So fun that Jenn was able to come and visit! How fun for everyone! Everyone looks great! Do you want to surprise your Mom and fly out for Easter? Jim and Steph will be there too! Would be fun! Sad that we still don't live in TX - would have been a fun visit for all of us!
great pictures! how on earth did you get an alamo picture with very few people in it? when we took my parents down last week, it was during the reinactment of the alamo...crazy crowds! but we enjoyed it:) i love the river walk too. glad you are back on the blog! hope to see you soon- xoxo
Chelon, We went to San Antonio on a Tuesday, so the Alamo wasn't too busy. Let's try to get together soon!
Lisa, It would be so much fun to see you all in Utah, but my kids had spring break last week. Be sure to take pictures of your visit and put it on your blog! It is sad that you guys still don't live in Texas! I learned right away why you liked it here so much.
Michele, I was so glad to hear from you. Your kids look so great! Jacky's hair is long and pretty, and Riley is getting so big and handsome--who knew they could both sing...i think that's great. I checked on Chelon's blog also, sounds like they're doing great also. It's funny I saw your comment today, last week your old neighbor Shelly came to my house for a scouting signature from Tony and she recognized me from your Christmas party. She asked if we still stayed in touch and I felt bad I haven't done a better job at that. Hopefully we will be better now, even if it is through blogging.
